Chair and founder of Friends of Cancer Research, Ellen Sigal, has been appointed to the National Cancer Institute’s Blue Ribbon Panel that will advise the National Cancer Advisory Board on Vice President Joe Biden’s moonshot cancer initiative. The panel will be comprised of scientific experts that will advise the advisory board on scientific opportunities to accelerate progress against cancer, and it will evaluate potential new investments in cancer research.

“Friends has been working with the White House on the Moonshot initiative since it was announced by President Obama during this year’s State of the Union,” Sigal stated in a release Monday (April 4). “I look forward to continuing that work on behalf of patients by serving on this panel.”
