Brand Guidelines 

Friends of Cancer Research’s official brand guidelines will help you represent our organization accurately and consistently across all materials and platforms. Please review them thoroughly to maintain our brand’s integrity and recognition before incorporating our logo into your work.  

Organization Name Guidelines 

When referring to our organization, please use “Friends of Cancer Research” or “Friends” (note the italicization). 

Do not use: 

  • “Friends” (shortened name without italics) 
  • “FOCR” (acronym should not be used) 

Logo Guidelines 

Our logo is available in PNG, PDF, and EPS versions. Please follow the guidelines below: 

Logo Placement and Spacing 

  • Maintain clear space around the logo 
  • Always use the logo at a legible size – minimum width of 120px for digital use 
  • Position the logo prominently 

Color and Background Requirements 

  • Never place the logo on backgrounds that match the logo’s blue color 
  • Ensure sufficient contrast between the logo and background 
  • When in doubt, place the logo on a white or neutral background 

What You Can Do 

  • Resize the logo proportionally 
  • Place the logo on photographic backgrounds with sufficient contrast 
  • Include the logo in editorial content, presentations, and marketing materials 

What You Cannot Do 

  • Modify, distort, or recreate the logo 
  • Change the logo’s colors 
  • Add effects, shadows, or outlines to the logo 
  • Rotate or tilt the logo 
  • Place the logo on busy or low-contrast backgrounds 
  • Use outdated versions of the logo 

Quality Standards 

  • Always use vector formats (SVG, EPS) for print materials and large-scale applications 
  • Use PNG files for digital applications where transparency is needed 
  • Ensure logos appear crisp and clear at all sizes 
  • Never stretch or compress the logo disproportionally 

Partnership and Co-branding 

If you’re featuring our logo alongside other brands: 

  • Give our logo equal visual weight to other featured brands 
  • Maintain proper spacing between logos 
  • Follow the same contrast and background guidelines 
  • Contact us for approval on co-branded materials when required
