Friends of Cancer Research (Friends) hosted a webinar designed for advocates on February 19, 2025, as a follow-up to Friends’ public meeting titled, “Advancing the Future of Diagnostics and Regulatory Innovations” on February 4, 2025.

The webinar, “Advancing the Future of Diagnostics and Regulatory Innovations Meeting Recap: Sharing Next Steps and Opportunities with Advocates,” dove into the discussions from the core event and explore implications for patient advocacy and regulatory efforts. The advocates webinar featured:

  • An overview of evidence generation for digital pathology and AI technologies, presented by our diagnostics project partners and Friends Advisory Advocates.
  • A discussion of findings from the Friends Digital PATH Project.
  • Strategies for developing diagnostic tests for rare biomarkers, and future regulatory considerations for emerging, cutting-edge diagnostics tools.
  • Q&A session with working group members from Friends’ diagnostic projects (patient advocates, researchers, and regulatory experts).
