Kamilah Guiden is the Director of Communications at Friends of Cancer Research (Friends). Friends is an advocacy organization based in Washington, DC that drives collaboration among partners from every healthcare sector to power advances in science, policy, and regulation that speed life-saving treatments to patients.
At Friends, Kamilah leads the development and execution of communication strategies that amplify the organization’s research and policy initiatives. Through her work, she effectively reaches policy, science, and patient audiences by translating complex scientific findings into clear, accessible content, inspiring them and driving meaningful change.
Before joining Friends, Kamilah worked at JPA Health, an award-winning public relations agency specializing in healthcare communications. Working with federal agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and non-profits, she blended creative storytelling with data analytics to develop digital campaigns that resonated with both patient and professional audiences.
Kamilah holds a Master of Library Science from Catholic University of America and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Political Science from Temple University.
