Heather S. Chaney, SHRM-CP, serves as Vice President, Operations at Friends of Cancer Research (Friends). Friends is an advocacy organization based in Washington, DC that drives collaboration among partners from every healthcare sector to power advances in science, policy, and regulation that speed life-saving treatments to patients.
Previously, Ms. Chaney served as Managing Director, Program Administration at Friends, furthering her vast experience working in health care and government relations. Prior to joining Friends, she served as manager of government relations at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) dealing with Medicare and uninsured issues. Before joining BIO, she was with the Health Insurance Association of America in the federal affairs department.
Ms. Chaney received her BA with Distinction in Political Science from Mary Baldwin University. In 2021, she received her SHRM-CP Human Resources certification.
