Natalie Snider-Hoy serves as a Science Policy Fellow at Friends of Cancer Research (Friends). Friends is an advocacy organization based in Washington, DC that drives collaboration among partners from every healthcare sector to power advances in science, policy, and regulation that speeds up life-saving treatments to patients.
In her role at Friends, Natalie supports the development and implementation of the organization’s research and policy agenda through landscape assessments, evidence generation, and stakeholder engagement. She collaborates with diverse partners to identify challenges in cancer research and develop solutions that accelerate the delivery of innovative therapies to patients. Natalie also works to translate complex scientific and policy issues into accessible resources for a broad range of audiences.
Natalie earned her PhD in Cancer Biology from Wayne State University with a focus in molecular epidemiology. During graduate school, she was selected to attend several Hill Days with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), served as an executive board member of her university National Science Policy Network (NSPN) chapter SciPol-Detroit, and authored a blog post for the AACR’s Cancer Research Catalyst on advocacy work for trainees. She holds a BS in Nutrition and Food Science from Wayne State University.
