About Friends

Friends of Cancer Research (Friends) drives scientific collaboration to create solutions for anyone impacted by cancer.

Our Work

Our work bridges the gap between scientists and policymakers to more effectively deliver life-saving treatments for patients.

Every day patients face barriers to cancer care, potentially limiting their chances of survival and quality of life.

Friends leverages research partnerships, generates scientific evidence, and integrates patient input to shape and inform the landscape of oncology drug development and regulatory policy.

Founded in 1996 by Ellen Sigal and Marlene Malek, Friends is committed to creating and implementing policies ensuring patients receive the best treatments in the fastest and safest way possible. We convene the right people at the right time to put forth revolutionary yet realistic ideas.
